David accepts commissions ranging from sculpture, jewelry, and functional artwork to furniture, architectural features, and large-scale installations. Each commission is developed around the client’s vision, the setting, the materials, and the story the finished piece should carry.
Yes. David works with rare woods, bronze, fossil coral, antler, precious metals, and other natural materials. If you are drawn to a particular material, location, or history, include that in your inquiry.
Material availability varies, especially with rare and reclaimed woods, but David may also recommend a material based on the concept and intended setting.
Every commission is collaborative, but the degree of involvement may vary. David will establish the overall direction with you before beginning and will share drawings, material selections, or progress updates at key stages.
The goal is to create something deeply personal while allowing the material and David’s artistic process to influence the final form.
The timeline depends on the scale, complexity, materials, and David’s current studio schedule. Smaller works may take several weeks, while furniture, bronze sculpture, and large-scale installations may take longer.
An estimated timeline will be provided once the scope of the project is understood.
Commission pricing is based on the design, dimensions, materials, complexity, and time required to create the work. Delivery, installation, engineering, casting, or other specialized services may be quoted separately when applicable.
After the initial conversation, the gallery will provide a proposal outlining the scope and estimated investment.
Yes. A deposit is required to reserve time in David’s studio and begin the design and material-selection process. The payment schedule and remaining balance will be outlined in the commission agreement before work begins.
Yes. The gallery can coordinate insured shipping, specialized freight, white-glove delivery, or professional installation based on the size and destination of the work. These requirements and associated costs will be discussed as part of the proposal.
If within 40 miles of the New Smyrna gallery, personal delivery of furniture is possible.
